Introduction to My life in a Blog

Introduction to My Life in a Blog

Personal information -

My name is Aaron Dunne, I am 21 years old, I live in Kildare town, Co. Kildare and I'm currently studying Creative Digital Media (CDM) in TU Dublin, Blanchardstown campus. I completed my leaving cert in 2017 and went on to work full time in Kildare Village for over two years in a clothing store called All Saints. I enjoyed working there full time as I was always interested in fashion. I also gained lots of knowledge in retail and customer experience. I am very grateful for my time as a full time worker in All Saints, working there allowed me to save money and invest in things I wanted to do. Although I loved my job and all the benefits that came with it including free clothes😝I always knew I wanted to get back into education at some point in my life. I chose this course as it had a broad list of modules I was interested in like, photography, web design, multimedia development etc.

First Year-

There are many things I enjoyed in my first year of CDM meeting new people, students and lecturers being one of them. I also loved all the modules I completed in first year. I was able to further my skills in things I had always been interested in like photography, photoshop and illustrator.

Goals for this Module

My goals for the module are to develop my skills in multimedia development and figure out if it would be a suitable career path for me to chose. I plan on putting in absolutely everything into this module and this course in order to get the best grades possible. It's all about building that foundation and I'm prepared to put in the hard work to do so.

Favorite Music

I listen to a range of genres of music, my favorite probably being alternative/indie and hip-hop/rap. Some of my favorite artist are Loyle Carner, Tom Misch, Mac Miller and the Artic Monkeys. I also listen to a lot of old school artists like Jimi Hendricks, Dire Straits, David Bowie, Nirvana, Oasis and many more!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvbfpR7XOwQ

Career Goal

At the moment I am unsure what career path I would like to take from this course as there are so many options. I'm keeping a positive and open mind about it and hopefully this year I'll figure out which of the modules I am best at or enjoy the most and I can pursue that path then. All I know is that I'm motivated to do well in this course and I'm prepared to put in the hard work in order to be successful.

Pets

I have a springer spaniel, his name is Dodger/Dodge and he is turning 1 this Halloween.

I also really enjoyed the all the modules that was in first year was a great learning curve and a good introduction to the course. Which was your favorite module? It seems like your into a lot of music and a lot of bands and I also to some of the people you listen to but what would be your favorite song? I am also unsure about my career path but just keep your mind open to everything and choose a career path that you would love to do!

  2. Hi Aaron, the layout of your blog post gave us a short but quick insight to your past, current and aspiring future life, how you split in into different sections was a good idea, along with getting to the point and keeping them brief. You also gave me a few new artists to listen after I'm done commenting on blog posts, so for that, thanks!!!

  3. Hi Aaron, great to see that you enjoyed your first year of college and I hope you enjoy the remaining years too. You seem to be in the same situation as me about being unsure what exactly you want to do in the future but eventually you will figure out as this course has so many options. Good luck with the rest of this semester. :)

  4. Hey Aaron, I loved your introduction post! I liked how you have headings for your paragraphs, this made it really interesting! I'm glad you enjoyed your full time work in Kildare Village, it must have given you heaps of experience in a customer environment, that'll stand to you! I too am unsure about what career path I'll be taking after this course, but that's the beauty of it. Also, your pup Dodger is so cute! Hope you're settling in well :)

  8. Hi Aaron, I'll start off with the one thing I'm really jealous of. Getting free clothes. Where I work the best part about it is that I get to hear a suit to work. Nowhere near as cool as your job. I'm happy to see you're in a course that you do what you enjoy doing and hopefully we will all find a career path we want to go with. I find it hard myself to figure out what I want to do as a job. Anyway I hope you're getting on well with college, Denis.

  11. Hows it going Aaron! Just read your introduction post and think it was a great read for getting to know a little about you. I was the same as you with working full time after leaving school and think it actually worked out in my favour considering I'm still here! I'm also on the same boat with not knowing exactly what I want to do yet but hopefully over the next few years we will realise. Hope you've been doing well anyway and get the results you're hoping for this semester!

  14. Hi Aaron! I loved the photography module as well and having the opportunity to mess around with photoshop was the best part since I never touched photoshop before the course started. You have really good taste in music and Loyle Carner is probably my favourite rapper that has come out of London. Dodger is the cutest name and he's very lucky to have you as his owner! Anyway best of luck with college. - Anna Zurawska
